Yeah, I really don't understand it either. At this point, I just follow the product via recaps and whatnot so I can understand what people are talking about in threads here. There's no value in watching the show from an entertainment standpoint, and even less so from the standpoint of not wanting to enable a company that's shown itself to be racist, sexist, (selectively) xenophobic, and morally bankrupt.
