I was trying to make this point in another thread. I don't necessarily think steroids is the end-all, be-all and I love the guys that can go in the ring & deliver great promos....but OP makes a good point with this in consideration: a lot of these guys just don't have that "larger than life" look. I'm not expecting everyone to be super-jacked but a lot of these cats just don't look like..."heavyweight champions", so to speak....

The audience saw Razor and went ..."Yeah...that's a fukking pro wrestler."

If these guys showed up in plain clothes, they'd be like "Aww, that's cool. Some college guys from the Big Brother program are helping these kids out. Good for them."

...and no, I don't care if Daniel Bryan and Punk could stretch me in real life. These little kids and their parents aren't that smarky. I'd bet there are more parents nowadays that watch Raw with their kids and hear "Dad, I think you could beat up _____" than there were back in 98 when Goldberg, The Rock, Austin, HHH, and Brock were on the screen.

That dynamic look just isn't there these days. If only Morrison had been able to develop mic skills...
