Reason Behind Vince McMahon Not Wanting To Send Fans Home Happy Most Of The Time

During an episode of Something To Wrestle With, Old School WWF Veteran Bruce Prichard (a.k.a Brother Love) talked about Vince McMahon no longer wanting to send fans home happy most of the times now and why Vince thinks so now.

Below is what Bruce said:

“When Vince went national with Hulk Hogan it was always leave them happy, leave them ‘up’ no matter what. That changed when we went to the monthly PPVs and the philosophy has changed even more so now with the Network.

They’re trying to get heat they’re trying to get people not as satisfied with those big shows so they’ll come back to see their hero or whatever return later on down the road.”

Even the UK house shows are down

Progress back last month had more people attend than the recent WWE house show at the same Wembly Arena last week and WWE had Jeff Hardy, Orton, Becky Charlotte, New Day, AJ, DB on that shyt

Same deal with the O2 show with Shield, Braun and Ronda I went to in August, it was packed but not a sellout

WWE used to 15,000 at house shows in London at the O2

Man get the strap:hhh:

Im confused by this line

They think "if the hero gets retribution now, people won't come back to watch", so they burn the heel heat forever.

That wasn't a problem when Austin sonned Vince every week, tho. Of course, no one in the company is at their level today.

That might be good and well, but the babyface never wins anymore because they don't have the patience to see out a feud. What's the point of continuing to watch when we all know the WWE can't stick to the storyline, give up on the feud prematurely and the babyface looks even dumber than before?

Legit, I'm totally :dwillhuh: by it all. So is this why we now have 50/50 booking.

The value of every show is a one off performance and you send the live audience home happy vs they sticking with storytelling and TV tropes, where someone is going to be unhappy whatever the outcome due to the direction of the storyline. Which happens in any TV show, with cliffhangers and conclusions.

They just don't know how to write and execute storytelling properly. It shouldn't be that hard to map out over a 4-6 week period, as a story has 3-5 acts to it.

The face and heel trade tit for tat comeuppances on one another over a fortnight period, then the heel does a number on the face, the following week or 2 later, the face comebacks, showing they might be down but not out, as they have a light exchange, but not on the scale of what the heel did to the face the 2nd time around. And then the face gets a bigger form of retribution at the big show.
