The announcement of the return of the XFL was made in January and is expected to launch in 2020. At the time, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon stated that he would spend $100 million on the league but that nothing close to what he will end up spending according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.

Instead, McMahon will spend $500 million on XFL within the first three seasons of the league.

People were focused on the $100 million, but the truth is that doesn’t even get us to the 20-yard line,” league CEO and commissioner Oliver Luck told ESPN. Luck said the biggest cost will be the salaries to pay players and coaches as the average salary for the 40-man rosters will hover around $75,000, with players that are more in demand making much more than that.

I’ve been at all levels
of football and the importance of a broad-based insurance program cannot be understated,
” Luck said. “There are very few participants who underwrite for this market anymore and it is obviously costly,” he said

For some reason I read these quotes in McMahon’s ‘..Austin you’re fired!!’ voice even tho this isn’t his interview.

This shyt's supposed to be aimed at xenophobic rednecks and he hires some generic rapper to create the intro song :mjlol:

Flo Rida's manager better get on top of this and book as many halftime performances as possible before it goes down in flames.

The coli not going to like this but looking at the AAF website and locations such as Memphis, Arizona, and Birmingham and their cheap looking logos and wnba team names, it's not really looking good

Just the fact alone XFL has cities like New york, LA, DC, Houston, Dallas etc and AAF has Birmingham and Memphis and mostly southern states tells me XFL has the money advantage and if that's the case AAF is done

1) AAF had NFL help with structure and organization, also has a TV deal, and isn't trying to overextend itself by going into markets with already established NFL teams
2) XFL playing in half to three quarter empty 60,000 stadiums will be bad optics

Where’s the star power from the XFL gonna come from though? AAF already got a deal with CBS, legends coaching, and former CFB playing in it. XFL won’t work with a bunch of Chris Hogans playing in it, Vince marketed this league to the people disgruntled about the anthem protests and now nobody even talks about the protests, XFL got the most pressure.

The star power will come from Money and visibility....just looking at it already, one of them has teams in NYC playing at Met Life (10 million people, biggest city in the US), Dallas, DC, Los Angeles (2nd biggest city) etc big markets, etc...the other one got teams in Birmingham, Alabama and Salt Lake City, Utah, I mean c'mon seriously. That tells anybody objectively not looking at it from a biased perspective or political type stuff that the money is a lot longer in one than the other. I don't know for certain but Vinces pockets are probably longer than charlie Ebersol plus early reports are suggesting NBC will pick up XFL games.

So if you are a NFL quality player looking for a 2nd chance, are you going to play on CBS, in Salt Lake City Utah or NBC at Met Life Stadium in a market of 10 million people...
