WWE News: Vince and Linda McMahon lost $500 million due to the slumping WWE stock, WWE Network plans under attack

Vince McMahon and wife Linda McMahon lost $500 million due to the WWE stock dropping from $18.64 per share to $7.86 per share over the last two years. "To me, it's indicative that maybe the McMahons care more about winning this Senate seat than their shareholders," stated political opponent Peter Schiff. Meanwhile, Linda's campaign stated that Linda no longer works for WWE. To read more on the story, visit Stamfordadvocate.com/news/article/Freefall-of-WWE-stock-costs-McMahons-500M-3743680.php.

Powell's POV: Bradley Safalow of PAA Research states that WWE has spent tens of millions of dollars on the launch of the WWE Network, yet still hasn't found a distribution partner. He also states that communication between WWE officials and shareholders regarding the network has been poor. It will be interesting to see what Vince McMahon has to say about that topic when he hosts a quarterly conference call to discuss the second quarter financial report on Thursday.

been suspicious of their partnership w/ youtube. really made no sense to put content on there when you have a network on the horizon. for such a successful base business (wrestling) the mcmahons really half ass it just about everywhere else. my ex used to be a manager at wwe restaurant ny. coming from corporate hospitality to there was a free for all according to her. couple that tank w/ body building, football...and now politics - maybe they need to stick to what they know...wrasslin.

*waits on tout ipo*

coke boy takes an expensive L this time.

He needs to give up on the dead fish. She has zero swag, no one takes her seriously, and no one in politics likes her. Keep the bytch in your office, she looking real foolish in public.

ehhh, every big business has stock drops like this though from time to time....really that one doesnt even seem that big when other companies drop $30-40 dollars

But maybe they were overvalued to begin with.

lol @ Artie Bucco

the Network has been looking like a failure forever. Anybody they had lined up for Legends House probably going to be in the dirt by the time it (doesn't) takes off.

Who loses half a bil and just goes about they day?

I mean, the E should NEVER be in this position, after the near-destruction from the early 90s steroid scandal. The Attitude Era should have guaranteed a full decade of growth. Even if the Chris Benoit thing went down, the Ruthless Aggression era really seemed like a cluttered mess, especially with the brand split. All it would take was a small push to send that to hell, and it got superkicked.

I guess some things were meant to peak and fall, not rise and stay above. :manny:

Deavor Christmas coming up? :mjpls:

They should have been reinvesting that money into the next generation of wrestlers. SMH at blundering 500million.

Compare that to the NFL where the next Peyton Manning is worth more to them then old audio clips of the Colts Superbowl win.

A WWE network is not as important as creating tomorrow's legends.

500 million? Damn.

You don't make that up in a year. While this is a not a critical blunder, the WWE is in serious financial trouble.
