So, If you read my post on this I been specifically saying the Knicks would have to use their assets to convince a third team to trade a better player (Like KAT) to the Nets for a combination of both teams assets AND Mikal would have to ask out specifically to play with the Knicks for the Knicks to be the second option. The Nets FO reputation is bad post KD/Harden/Kyrie. They completely fumbled that bag, but we saw them send guys to teams they wanted to go to so I don’t think they would deny Mikal a trade request if the Knicks had someone like KAT going their way.
so the way to get Bridges is to convince a third team to take both your crap? If you can pull it off, God bless.

What crap?
Clearly a three teamer for a highly paid player is gonna wind up being more of a package surrounded by picks. The Knicks picks aren't that valuable and the player assets on both teams are basically just expirings.

Knicks get: Bridges
Nets get: distressed asset
Team X gets: a pu pu platter of picks, many of them worthless on their own + Ben Simmons + Grimes or something like that

Team 3 gets a shyt ton of draft picks potentially from Knicks and Nets and cap space. Nobody said anything about Ben Simmons going out. We literally saw this same thing happen with Gobert. All it takes is a team being over that second apron and they are going to fire sale assets including the superstars in they don’t think they can win a championship.

Ben would be the expiring deal since the Knicks don't really have that kind of salary filler unless you extend Fournier.

They might extend Fournier. :yeshrug:

If he is smart he would shut up too because he’s definitely overpaid.
Just checked, the Nets would have to give up DFS too, which no longer becomes that much of a tax save in year one. I don’t see why the Nets do it either. DFS, Mikal and a bunch of picks for KAT or anyone else that would be available on a dump like that isn’t worth it for them.
