If he's really doing what you say he's doing I suspect he's either he's getting paid to appear or he doesn't have an actual tab (doesn't pay for anything). Why would he spend his own money when he could just front in the club and get the the spot some extra shine?
Of course that won't work at the extra live spots, but for all those spots that are in heavy competition I can't see why he wouldn't get taken care of if he stepped through.
