nikka you ain't better than us, you posting in this thread too
Exactly. That's the point of a father giving away his daughter to the husband.....she belongs to her husband now. She is loyal to her husband's house first whereas before the marriage, she was loyal to her father's house first.
She gives up her father's name(his house and family crest) to take that of her husband(his house and family crest). So, a chick should NOT be above checking her family on behalf of her husband if needed. As a wife, that is your duty to your husband.
Peace
There's certain exceptions to this rule, particularly with rich and/or aristicratic families. For instance, George W. Bush (the son, 43), the W comes from the Walker Family, who at one time was more powerful than the Bush family.
When Prescott Bush married Lady Walker, they added Walker to their son, George Herbert Walker Bush (the father, 41 Prez) and George H.W. Bush named his son George Walker Bush. Out of respect and deference, since Prescott became powerful due to his wife's family connections. However, Bush is still the last name, my point is sometimes they keep the wife's name somewhere in the middle of their children's names.
