She gives up her father's name(his house and family crest) to take that of her husband(his house and family crest). So, a chick should NOT be above checking her family on behalf of her husband if needed. As a wife, that is your duty to your husband.

Beyonce was right to not intervene. Jay and Solange are the idiots here and it's obvious at least one of them does not respect the relationship Beyonce has with the other and decided that winning the argument was more important than THEIR family being cool.

I would never put my little sister in a situation where she has to choose between physically defending me or physically defending her husband, assuming that she loves him, because I love my sister and would not want her to go through that emotional stress.. I would never put my wife in a position where she has to choose between physically defending me or physically defending her sister, because I would love my wife, and do what I could to prevent emotional stress again.

All of the "My wife better fight for me" stuff is crazy because as a man, your wife should never be in a place were she has to handle any kind of physical altercation, because you are the man, and she is a GOOD woman. You can't be all "Ra, ra, I'm a man. I'm the protector of this family............ but bae can you help me out on this fight real quick?" A man has to know how to read situations and think of logical way to protect his wife and himself. Not ways for them to be in the dirt together. Physical violence is not very honored on the totem pole of forms human communication. If I am ever in an argument that is able to be led to a fight with a WOMAN, that means I am not doing my job as a man, because men should not be arguing and engaging in backs and forths with women in the first place. A lot of you cats would sit there and engage with that women like it's cool, like you're a boss for winning a screaming contest with a woman. But, what does a man gain from arguing with a woman? Even when you are right, there is still noting to gain.

Because any time a man argues intensely with a woman (and they are clearly going back and forth, sparking the situation with each other), he is putting choosing to put himself in a lose-lose situation where he will have to choose being right (meaning not hitting her) and surviving (meaning hitting her and getting violent). Either way is a lose, but being right and not hitting is the socially acceptable loss, but comes with a lot of humility and pride being choked. And a man should not be choking his pride for random women or any woman who is not his wife/direct blood family member, so he should not be engaging in situations where he will have to make that decision.

Also, if you know the bytch is crazy, that's even more reason to stay away from her and especially avoid arguments with her. Step off the elevator and leave them there, let her talk by herself and think she's winning. BUt don't think you're ever gonna win an argument with anyone who is obviously in a very emotional state.
