Idk, out of that era me and my crew back in HS always ranked durk towards the bottom. We always thought he was trying too hard to be like future/thug. He outlasted them and like you said, perfected the style, and now that style is at it's hottest so it was all about the long game for him.

I did overembellish when I said he was the wackest in his crew, that's true, but out of the guys who legit made it out of that chicago era of rap, he took the longest to get going and took the longest to make his best music, for sure.
