I rather have physical copies.Physical
The physical copy is bullshyt tho, all you do is upload it to your HDD anyway. A disc just limits your freedom. I used to think about resale value but I rarely sell games anyway. I believe I seen your collection, and as impressive as it is, one day you're gonna be like "fukk all this shyt"You can get the physical copy of the deluxe edition for $20
Nah. A chunk of my retro stuff was passed down to me from my pops who actually still games till this day. I have an entire separate room in my house dedicated to games and movies. I'm 31 and I don't plan on stopping gaming any time soon. I like having physical copies, not just for resale value but for nostalgia and as long as I have the space for it, and games continue to be cheaper on disc than digitally then I'll continue buying discs. I don't see how a disc limits my freedom at all. IF I ever wanted to sell, or even pass down any of my games to someone else I can do that easily with discs. It works great for me. The only thing I would potentially miss out on is the ease of remotely playing multiple games on my hard drive but I rarely game on the go as it is. The only thing that has been pulling me away from gaming the last few years has been the success of the studio and taking classes towards my MBA. Otherwise I would still be dumping hours daily into video games. I just don't have that kind of time anymore, and I don't mind that one bit.The physical copy is bullshyt tho, all you do is upload it to your HDD anyway. A disc just limits your freedom. We in the digital age, your collectables won't really be wow worthy until you're too old to matter. Then some young buck will buy your shyt from a pawn shop and sell it for meth
It's all about perspective. I fully understand what you're doing. Being a horder of things is not unique to your collection. But the flaws in the thinking is stuff like passing sit down for them to play. They won't wanna, and good luck hooking up your HDMI to whatever the new standard is twenty years from now. When's the last time you seen a nikka play an Atari 2600 that shyt didn't have components, it had those two hook thingsNah. Its completely possible my kid wont have any interest in video games. They aren't the reason I prefer discs. My main motivation is price closely followed by nostalgia. It's all about perspective. Let me put it to you this way, is your kid gonna use the internet or encyclopedia Britannica VHS or the medium that supports 20kTV.
Your stuff is only cool to our generation. If it makes you feel any better, I think your collection is cool
That's cool... But, your kid should like videogames. Just won't give a shyt about the games in your collection. They would rather play new games with there friends which is why we all pay for things such as Xbox live, PSN/etc.Its completely possible my kid wont have any interest in video games. As far as how will I hook up old systems; I already do that, with an old TV I have specifically for the retro stuff.
There's tons of adapters online as well if I needed them.
Coincidentally I was just at a flea market with my pops this past weekend (when I bought bayou billy) and we were looking through a bunch of atari games but didn't find anyone we didnt already have.
I haven't touched it. It's sitting on top of my NES in my game room. That's cool... But, your kid should like videogames. Just won't give a shyt about the games in your collection. They would rather play new games with there friends which is why we all pay for things such as Xbox live, PSN/etc.
And since old games can be emulated easily, it will seem odd that you have such prehistoric devices when all she has to do is say "OK Google, load AR BAYOU Billy NES" and an augmented reality virtual screen will pop up with this dated game in 12k.
Question, did you play it yet. How far did you get
