According to people in this thread he has 20 million chillin, does he need to 'make a living' in Hip Hop putting out albums? Mind you, these are not self help or gospel albums. He wants the Rick Ross name because of its association to drug dealing/the streets/that life. I understand he did the heavy lifting for the name and it is his name. I am speaking from a legal stand point on why he can't use it in music. What schools and community centers in Los Angeles is he speaking at? I haven't heard of any and I live in Southern California...you know the area he turned upside down in a few years.

Woody Harleson made being a serial killer look appealing in Natural Born Killers but he didn't turn a bunch of people into killers or murder people. That's the difference between playing a character in the make believe world of Hip Hop and really ruining peoples lives.

Yes it is supposed to rehabilitate criminals but there are people who have committed crimes that don't get wiped clean just because they sat in jail. Everyone should have my line of thinking when it comes to all those murders and families crushed with him. We aren't talking about a guy who robbed a bank or stole a car. We are talking about a guy who was a driving force behind the bloods/crips turning the area into a war zone and the crack EPIDEMIC. Not crack problem, EPIDEMIC. Im not even talking about the notches he has on his own belt from putting out people interfering with what he was doing.

I don't know nor do I care how much money that nikka got. As for the where he's spoke at, you'd have to ask him. I heard him mention doing those types of things in a interview.

LOL @ him being a driving force. He was nothing more than pawn. He was just a dumb broke kid that was trying to get paid. If it wasn't him the CIA wouldv'e found another dumb kid to do it. They created that epidemic not him and there was nothing he, you or me could've done to stop them.

So you're going to put the crack epidemic on Rick Ross when he was sponsored by the US government? Rick Ross was just a pawn in the grand scheme of things, if it wasn't him it would've been someone else. The government was responsible for the crack epidemic and turning a lot of inner city communities into war zones. I'm not absolving Ross of blame but he was actually punished. He actually did 20 years in prison for his crimes. How many people from the CIA and US government did any time? Oliver North walked away scott free. How do you feel about that? I see you going on and on about how much destruction Rick Ross did to his community, but I don't see you saying anything about the people who were ultimately responsible for the destruction and they all got away clean. Reagan and his team covered the whole thing up ad nobody like you cared.

Your fake self righteous ignorant attitude is why white supremacy will always prevail in this country.

Glad he did 20 years, that doesn't wipe away the murders and violence that came in Los Angeles because of him. There are people who lost their life, mental and physical health, and livelihood so he could get rich. People who suffered and still suffer from the after effects of the gang violence fueled by him flooding Los Angeles with crack. And he didn't pay his debt to society by sitting in jail either because blood/crip gang banging blew up thanks in part to him. He could never repay his debt to society. Trying to start a Hip Hop record label certainly looks like him really helping out his community to 'pay his debt' huh?

Rick Ross is playing a character and lied about being a CO...but you guys are more upset at him than someone who devastated the black and latino community in one of the largest cities in the world? Think about that for a second. Its absurd to be more mad at the fake Rick Ross than The Real Rick Ross. Honestly some of you seem upset because you must have thought Rick Ross was really selling coke on his first CD or something. Anyone in their late 20s and 30s has no excuse.

Preach on. I mentioned before, while I don't lay the entire blame of what happened in South Central during those times entirely on Rick Ross feet, he is still responsible in a large measure for those times. There's a side of me that's understanding more and more why other countries carry the death penalty for narcotics trafficking. I love reading about hustlers and gangsters, organized crime, etc.. They're fascining individuals and organizations, but far too often people such as myself overlook the collateral damage these people are responsible for. If people like Rick Ross were given the death penalty, I can't entirely say I would disagree with it.

He's not someone worthy of respect or admiration. He's truly the lowest of the low almost on par with a pedophile considering how both ruin lives far beyond what's on the surface. For him to even come out and say that he's preventing the goons from getting at a phony ass rapper is disrespectful to all those who suffered in California because of his actions. Truth be told he needs to lay low and STFU. To take it a step further, the fact that responsible Blacks don't sanction or censure him and people like him plays a role into why our communities lack the progress we're capable of.
