Yea man. I def feel u. One of his most uninspired deliveries I heard from him in a minute. The nikka literally dragging on the track. Toward the end of the verse it sounds like he’s veering off. So I def believe he could’ve been drunk.

He sounded buzzed/drunk, and then the video of them in the studio confirmed he was drinking lol. But that's on Khaled to me, not Nas. I got respect for Khaled because he's a hip hop head who grinded to the top but there's more to being a producer than just yelling on a record, or telling the producer to turn the bass up. You have to be able to say "ok I have the vocals but I need this re-done." It's not about "I have the vocals, put the record out." Doesn't mean you gotta be disrespectful, and it doesn't mean you have to demand 100 retakes like Dre. But in this era, getting the best vocal performance from rappers (and singers) is a dead art.

You can't be scared that if you actually produce somebody they're gonna bounce. Obviously Nas wouldn't do that, I'm talking about the newer artists. Nas understands the coaching process in the studio whereas...Lil Baby doesn't, for instance. But if you're focus is getting as much shyt from Lil Baby before he leaves instead of focusing on the quality...you let it slide. That's Khaled...

I dont think he was drunk he just approached a super laid back flow, Jay did the same thing. And if the video is an indication he heard Hov's verse first, they probably agreed thats the flow to go for the beat. I guess you can say they thought it was floating on the beat or whatever but thats what they went even if it made them sound lazy

Coli posters be acting like some middle classed surbaban cacs at times. I see a Cac on Twitter say rap is done because of the Jay Nas references like encouraging people to be angel investors and cryptocurrency investors ain’t more productive for us than it is them selling drugs:mjlol:

Yeah I saw that on twitter earlier, unsurprisingly its come CaC from The Ringer:mjlol:

Theres still people that think Crypto investment is some scam or that angel investors have to be douches or whatever cause they just see predominatley young CaCs or people like Musk alledgedly involved in some coins so they painting a picture. As opposed to the idea that anyone can get involved and its exchange money without big banks and regulatorys fukking people over.
CaC culture writers are the WOAT:hhh:

just the guys or Joe Budden as well?

Primarly Rory and Parks to be fair.
Budden initially was like "Yall dont want my opinon on the song" but then 30 seconds later he said he liked the song when listing tracks from the album they liked.
Budden said he felt Nas killed it, but hes not used to hearing him on slow beats/flow
The guys overall felt they kinda held back but its not wack. Had a disucssion on their previous collabos, had different opinons but liked them all overall. Joe sorta alluded and asked if people have unreal expectations in passing, that no one kinda answered in the middle of the convo

I honestly wish Nas and Jay actually collabed together in person cuz I feel like they enjoy being friends but shyt like Khaled making them collab is forced. Every collab between them has to be a "moment."

See I only felt it was like that with Black Republicans and this track, success just was a record and was cool. And thats just cause sonically how the beats were and the ad lib intros about history etc etc

But yeah I do think if you let these guys work together more and collabo and lock them in a studio Im sure they'd come up with something that sounds more natural.

I do think half the time when people say they dont fit, its because people have their own expectations of how they shoud sound rather than just listening to the tracks, dont think its always them being guarded about the others verse cause of what people might say.
