I'm really happy for Jake and I hope the same for Scott...but I'll believe the long term change when I see it.

Even with Jake, I feel like it's a matter of time...

It's one thing to change temporarily, it's another to make it a life long habit.

Here's hoping.

This is something they'll carry the rest of their lives. Reality is that there will probably be relapses. Doesn't mean they have to fall completely off the wagon. That long-term change for them means making a decision every single day of their lives.

I think that Nash brought up a solid point about Scott needing medical supervision while detoxing. With how long that Scott has been dealing with the liquor, there are some serious symptoms and even death that could come with quitting cold turkey.
That being said, I'm wishing all the best for Scott and I hope that he gets the help that he needs to conquer his demons before they conquer him. He deserves so much more life than he's giving himself a chance to receive.
