Its not even just NJPW, Japanese wrestling itself gets what needs to be done to give the matches a "big sports feel". Compared to the Western promotions that got to have a good amount of glitz and glamour, thus the matches either causes headaches or make the shyt looks faker than it already is labeled.

While AEW actually tries to get the production to match NJPW, I lone for the days of WCW production:francis:. Despite how low budget some of their backstage and show quality looked, they knew how the cameras work and make the matches larger than life.
WCW production was good due to them using the Turner Sports production team. What's really weird is AEW could use the Turner team too or at least get them to assist on the production.

I'm surprised that Khan and Turner not going apeshyt with the funds:francis:. Then again the pandemic really messed up the movement to a screeching halt. I'm seriously convinced if the virus never happened, it would be some more focus on building up production. Now it's all cost cutting and just putting out a product since it's apart of the contract :ld:.

100% agree. I've read that AEW is currently using the old Impact production team from 2009-2011'ish time frame.

Yeah, AEW is using Impact old production team which explains why production work feels like Impact to those who watch the show within that timeframe. However, TK did study up on a lot of things WCW related, so you would though he would use what Turner provided to WCW considering how much the production work have changed from 2001 to now.

But thing again, Daily's Place is an pain in ass to film an wrestling show.

To be fair, WCW went off the air in 2001. I bet a lot of that production staff moved on to other jobs/opportunities during that 18 year time span.

That is true, I'm pretty much seeing as how other sports companies improve their work over the years, while wrestling is kinda in an weird place (with the exception of japanese wrestling). WWE been doing the shaking camera work for over an decade and it is ridiculous, AEW is pretty much explained already, while I don't remember much on MLW or ROH production work as Impact is the only who at least tries to evolve their work, even if it is an hit or miss.

One thing I don't get is why they do cuts on slams. I understand that punches, kicks and even dives don't fully connect sometimes but you don't need to switch cameras on a bodyslam to know it had impact.

NJPW camera is great. Like someone said it’s like a boxing match.

With that said. WWE’s camera cuts don’t bother me so much. Maybe i’m just use to it after all these years. What does bother me is when there’s a cut away, and they miss the spot. AEW use to do this a lot in the beginning. WWE does it to.

The main thing I hate about the RAW production is how the camera jumps on guys punching people.

I forgot what match it was a few months back but someone was attacked by the announcers desk.

And the guy straddled the other guy on top and just started throwing punches and for ever punch the camera just bounced up and down, in and out.:what:

That shyt was terrible... it’s like “why”?:mindblown:
