can't even hate on bruno retro'ing music styles black people have forgotten about.

too many nikkas obsessed with making trap & b now so bruno said "lemme make music for the people that shyt like "i miss when people made music like ______"

funk music?..... check

new jack swing?..... check

i had a feeling this might be a thing after that industry plant boy band prettymuch started doing the same shyt

Bruno Mars is trying to cover all the decades. I bumped 24k magic song to death.

The thing that gets me is if a black artist did some throwback music like this they would get clowned and laughed at by other black people on the internet. Might not make it past 5,000 views. But praise and thank god when a nonblack person brings back “good golden age music”.

I saw on IG some neo-soul hoe tried putting Bruno in the same category as Justin Beiber, Iggy Azalea, and Ed Sheeran as if every non black artist doing black music is appropriating culture. Like Bruno isn't a mix of multiple underrepresented minority groups himself or like he doesn't employ an all black band, or like he hasn't gone on record to saying he owes his career to black artists.

Out of all these pop acts out here Bruno does all his writing, producing, and choreo himself. We should be giving props to this young brown kid from Hawaii blowing up in this white male dominated industry. Miss me with that crab mentality.

Tracks fire btw even tho like some folks said Cardi didn't really elevate the track but it's for the culture so I'm not mad at it. Also don't think I didn't notice the Bay Area dance influence when Bruno was hitting that shmeeze. That bugged me out lol.

You have an example in mind?

It happens a lot. It’s one of the reasons the most of top 10 songs on the charts right now is by other races doing black music. People be so mesmerized that a person that’s not black can do black music so well they automatically champion them.
I meant referring to a black artist doing a throw back kind of track like this and getting clowned for it

There are plenty of examples.

Bruno’s just the pied piper bringing black music from the 80s and 90s back and making it pop and accessible to white people without them feeling like it’s a guilty pleasure or they’re trying to be “Black”

It’s carefree urban music by a racially ambiguous non threatening artist. Pretty much what Michael Jackson was trying to do image wise except he’s actually black and sang about about real issues

Bruno’s like a brown skinned cooler Ed sheran
that dances

Bruno is dancing straight to the bank. His format has been winning for like 5 years now?

While artists just as talented like Omarion who grew up in that era are still trying to do R&B in 2017-18 and can’t even get a hit.

Cp4 is a nice Ep, by the way.:hubie:

And Entourage over any video Bruno made

:blessed:

Where y'all nikkas come up with this shyt :gucci:?

Let Chris Breezy hop in that era and see what happens. Have you not heard Sza's "The Weekend"? That's straight 90's SWV/EnVogue type shyt. Have The Weeknd not been recreating Michael Jackson vibes his entire run? You nikkas gotta stop with this fake "woke" shyt, smh.
