Most people don't care with the cost of living skyrocketing. That's why they economy is the number one issue for voters by far.
I think there is a lot of misinformation involved with that issue. We live in a free market. Businesses set their prices as they see fit to maximize profits. What can a POTUS so to really make these businesses lower their prices? If I'm a business owner, ok give me a tax cut. But no, as long as I'm still making money I'm not lowering my prices. Why would I? The cost of goods and services are ALWAYS going up in America. The pandemic gave them an excuse to raise prices. sure their costs went up on certain things, but can anyone explain how they are making record profits?
And the funny thing is economists are saying the economy is in a great position right now. At this point there is a lot of deception being used to scare people into thinking we are in a bad economy for voting purposes. I know there are some things the government can do, but mostly this is what it means to live in a capitalistic society. Businesses/corporations are not going to lower prices unless they HAVE to.
