The new smaller system is being redesigned to have more set top box functionality, its not just a small 360. That is mentioned in the MS taking over TV thread. MS can drop the live gold requirement all together the day that machine is released or take away the pay requirement for the small machine only.
I doubt this part VERY seriously if it's not being used for 360 BC. They gonna find a way to nickel/dime with that add on.
the thing i would worry about with the add on set top box is that if you are going to use it for streaming apps and shyt from the net from content providers (esp if this is MS way of replacing cable boxes), then the current limits we have in place from cable providers will be a big concern. I don't see cable providers liking this very much. All they'll do is railroad nikkaz with increased internet costs.
