Like if you gonna do the rated r thing then just go with carnage. Carnage can actually be told as a story without the need of Spidey.

Venom needs Spidey. There's no other way.

Agent Venom would be perfect and craft the story around an older Flash in the army up to him losing his legs and signing up for the symbiote experiment.

That actually makes it interesting. Comic books are varied and interesting enough that you could actually tackle a bunch of different feels and genres with different characters.

Yes they can. All they have to do is make a deal like they did for Spidey where Sony just puts up the money to make the movie and distribute/market. Marvel Studios handles the production and creation. Sony gets the revenue and MCU gets to use Spidey.

Nothing is stopping Sony from letting Marvel Studios produce the movies for them.
