That's how venom is supposed to be though

Classic venom was the goofball. These movies draw heavily from the lethal protector books and ps1 game. He didn't become serious and more of a monster until ultimate spiderman
The problem is it’s not funny though, watching Venom ride in a van with some random family singing folk songs is just lame and adds nothing to the story, he’s supposed to at least be witty in the same vein as Spider-Man

No arguments there. Humor in the previous movies weren't my cup of tea either

Hope we get a reboot soon with better humor. I think some evil dead 2 type shyt would be the perfect balance of horror with comedy

Either that or give us venomverse 👀

I think the main problem is there's not enough to balance it. Eddie Brock as the broken down shell of a man works when there's not goofiness all around, for the movies. There wasn't enough of the straight-man trope to play it against, it was all wacky comedy and zany characters. The first had a solid balance, but the movie just wasn't anything unique. The 2nd went too far into goof. This one tried to bring it back, but the characters just kept increasing,

But I think Evil Dead doesn't work either. It worked for Spidey 2, but didn't work for Dr. Strange. I do think it works for a Carnage movie. It's just tricky getting that balance.

I liked the family scenes, as they developed. They were a McGuffin since he needed another way from point A to B. However, I think what really makes them memorable is that the daughter is the straight-trope/cynic to the family to bring it down, but when Venom says they would've enjoyed this type of life.

Well, at least it was better than the 2nd one... :francis:

Thought it was funny how
All those people on the flight to New York just crashed and died without any acknowledgement of it
I don’t think anything happened to them breh, just lost an engine. They never showed it going down or anything

LMAO at the Mexican bartender having two Marvel post credit scenes which absolutely added nothing to the movie :mjlol:

The second one
shows that Venom is still alive. Which leaves the door open for Sony to make another Venom movie but without Tom Hardy.

I’d imagine that the majority of people who know Dancing Queen are going to be completely lost when the song comes on as it obviously is wasn’t them. Wasn’t expecting to hear A-Teens in a movie in 2024, but it was a welcome surprise even if it was just a remix. Hopefully this means we’re getting new music soon :ehh:

That’s all I got to say about this movie :yeshrug:

The year 3030
this should've been venom 2

it was ok overall...they leaned hard into the comedy

the way the symobites come together would've a better way to get carnage than what Venom 2 actually did

...so acid can kill that thing? seems pretty easy

that finale....eddie surviving only by being covered by that piece scrap building is mjlol: :unimpressed:

is that guy important in the marvel overall universe?
