Yup, he had the money for the drugs already too, went back got them repackaged and sold them, split the money with his crew but one of his crew (which he knew) was a gulf cartel guy.

Story old as time, 90 % of men die either because of greedy or p*ssy
The OP said it was a "fake" pursuit fabricated by the island Coast Guard.

Was he working with them?

Matter fact lemme just ask for a link so I can read this shyt. I'm at work and ain't got shyt else to do :pachaha:

I just watched a journalist do a breakdown of this guy :

- dude was a big time player, not a cartel boss but big enough where he had his own trade route he controlled between a couple of small islands and the DR
-he controlled the drug trade in at least one city out there
- he was being protected by politicians and so are the two dudes who killed him, there being hid on someone's complex right now
- he had national police on payroll and they recently killed a few rival dealers
- he was actually killed back on July 18, on the 14th he was in DR, starting on July 16th he started getting random biblical text messages, the last of which was "“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters." :francis:
- he is associated with another Venezuelan drug dealer who goes by "Yayo" who is ex military and brutal as fuk, and controlled a whole part of Venezuela Yayo was apparently behind the killing of this big time Colombian drug dealer who goes by "Soap" who is connected to the the Gulf cartel
- The reason he so calm in the video if you pause is it is because he half unconscious you can see a lump on the back of his head, he was thrown into the of the same day he was kidnapped, there was no torture before hand
- he was thrown in the back of a Tahoe (there's more video that hasn't been released) and taken to a speed boat
-he was thrown out close to St Martinique with a anchor around his legs
- he was married to a famous female lawyer in DR
- his nickname was Talibán because he had some middle east connects too
-dude had multiple alias and names in DR, Colombia, Venezuela. He was a supplier in the sense that he made routes possible that's how he got connected with the gulf cartel, he was first given a couple of loads of 200/300 keys to see if he could be trusted
-when the delivery for 500 keys was happening he was chased by the police (on the ocean) dumped the keys. This is where it gets interesting, if had had just left them he would have been good but he got greedy and went back and got some of the coke
-the person who told on him was not directly part of his crew, apparently when the cartel gives you large shipments they assign one of there people directly to shadow you, this is who told
-the video was taken on purpose, one for proof he was killed and secondly has a warning to others. The video was released by the cartel on purpose
- him getting tossed into the ocean was not random, hitmen were ordered to toss him like he tossed the keys

Man… should’ve just left them or got it back and returned to sender.. or actually complete the job.

Drug shyt already sketch but I would NEVER try to steal from or cheat the next man. Dude sounds like he was living large before all this too. Had a bad DR lawyer for wife, knew politicians, had connects in middle east, etc.

It's in Spanish, what OP posted was incorrect if you are to believe the Dominican reporter, who actually calls this out. I had never heard of this tortola island but apparently it's where almost all major players keep there money, according to the reporter people who have been there said there giant underground storage facility's where hundreds of millions of cartel money is kept.

So not only do you go back and get the product... you go back with a person who works for the cartel you just stole from.

For a dude in his position I'm surprised he moved so sloppy.

He had a cartel person with him the whole time, honestly I think it was greed more than anything else, he had already got paid (around $600,000k) he figured since the cartel would hear that it was legit police raid (via there person) he could just go back get the drop sell it and make a few million, he didn't figure the cartel person would go back and still tell after he paid them off.
