Breh Chichi at one point in time was the strongest woman on earth. She is trained in the Turtle Hermit style by the Ox king and like Goku has been fighting since childhood. I think it is safe to say she can survive getting her back blown out by Goku and giving birth to his kids. Bulma on the other hand is a spoiled city girl who while extremely smart is weak as hell.
