denno if it would've been funnier but this was supposed to be the original finale:
that's what i expected/wanted to happen, but maybe they dropped it because it was predictable. but richard getting the nom then making her his Veep would've been a fitting end, all that ruthlessness for nothing

Finally finished.

The last 2 seasons were definitely different from the first 4 or 5 but this is one of the GOATs and Julia is gonna go down a legend. She didn’t need this show to cement the legacy but this is just another example of supreme comedy acting.

I’m gonna miss this mean ass show :yimmytears:

If you haven't watched 'In The Thick Of It' - the show Armando Iannucci did before this - check it out.
Very similar in terms of tone(and language:lolbron:) it's just set in London.

There was a spin off movie too called 'In The Loop'. James Gandolfini was in it.

Now this is how you send a series, everything tied up perfectly with Splett getting re elected and winning the noble peace prize with his 3 state solution :russ::mjlol:

Richard won the Actual Nobel Prize, that was a shot at Selena winning that 2nd tier peace prize before

also, her Library being at Smith College was another shot at her. that's a known lesbian school, and she repealed gay marriage

fantastic show

I'm late as fukk on this as the first few seasons didn't really grab me like that. But after seeing enough people on here hype it decided to check out the rest.

I can't remember the last show that had me laughing out loud as much as this one. Richard might be my favorite sitcom character ever. Great show.

Did none of us catch this?:dwillhuh:

8. In Veep, when Selina and her team hoped that a big news event would happen — like Tom Hanks dying — to distract the media from reporting on her scandal in the pilot episode. Then, in the finale, Tom Hanks's death overshadowed the news of her own funeral.

the fact the final season only hit 7 pages shows how this was underrated. some of the most wild comedy I ever seen on television. I know Julia still gets typecast from Seinfeld, but this shyt was her real home run.

outside of Curb, I'm having a hard time thinking of a sitcom on HBO that was at a higher quality than this

I ran the series back about a month ago for the 3rd time.

Soooo well written. Every episode I was laughing out loud. I'll forever watch this show.

It was wild to me that this thread was upped 10 minutes after I just finished a rewatch. There seemed to be a drastic shift in tone after season 5 which didn't stand out as much to me on initial viewing. There seemed to be more one liners and much a lot harsher with the jokes. I looked it up and it did seem like they switched writing staffs after season 5. The biggest stand out is Selena seemed to become even more cutthroat and of a bytch than before.
