Im convinced most of the people in here didn't watch the video or didn't comprehend it. It's a right-leaning channel and the gist of his point was not just about defending the status quo but also not rocking the boat too much and turning off a bunch of the country.

He 100% means white people. Progressivism is more popular but reductives turn it into LGBTQ and immigrants and ignore everything else. If Democrats tailor their message to "working class" people, aka white people, and leave out fighting for folks rights, we have two Republican parties. When they destroy the department of education regular everyday people who aren't wealthy will be hurt. When they guy Medicaid regular people will be hurt.

Democrats are due for a tea party moment. The progressives need to get in that ass and force them to change by taking up all the publicity and energy while also shytting on the elites of their party for not backing them up.

They're scared of the blowback though so I understand the hesitation. You can see it when AOC is interviewed and she tried to gently skate around the question of why her superiors in the party are fukking stupid.

We gotta accept that a good portion of the country is just lost. They're never going to wake up and come together and seize power for the greater good or everyone They'll just listen to propaganda like Fox News and do what they're told and think how they're told to think even if that stuff isn't in their best interest.

I think it's past time people stop pretending like those people can be reached and swayed by democrats. People acting like things need to get worse before they can get better are dead wrong. Things will never get better in the first place. They'll either stay close to the same or get noticeably worse. You kinda have to pick which of the two you find more acceptable.

As someone who semi politically active in Houston, especially in improving mass transit options and accessibility getting support from state and national Dems is next to nil. Local Democrats are supporting our efforts but it feels like we are in island for advocacy and trying to make change. If this is happening in Houston, I can summize it is happening everywhere. The MAGA and ultra right political system is amazing in cultivating and supporting micro media influencers, community leaders, and activists. Democratic party is very slow, unresponsive, and out of touch. MAGA also know how to attract media to causes.

Dems need to pull not push policies. Right now with these ill-advised and poor tarriffs, de-emphasis on public health, and poorly planned government cuts can prove
that MAGA and right wing populism simply doesn't work.

Dems should create their own 2025 project that revolves around the crisis of home prices, accessibility/transportation, and health care that is realistic and implementable. Trump is worse than Biden in that he's actively ignoring inflation and cost of living crisis. Dems need to see what's happening and create a public blueprint to tackle the needs.
