This can only lead to a higher body count, imo. Once its common knowledge that faculty/staff are packing........ wouldn't the shooters just be more strategical? Killing the staff on sight. Working in groups. Shooting windows out, tossing grenades, pipe bombs etc.

Yeah a teacher can still kill the shooter(s) and prevent a massacre, but I'm gonna have to assume the school shooters would account for that already. The shooters are the only ones with the element of surprise.

I don't have a better answer, but I know arming teachers can't be the solution.

Yea just let them be defenseless instead. :mindblown:

O wait gun control. Make them illegal so criminals say *hey dawg we cant use these guns, they're illegal* before going on a killing spree.

And why not just make school like a prison environment while we're at it?

It seems that we need more control, especially control over assault rifles, etc.

In reality, that sh1t just won't work with these isolated incidents. I didn't like Pres. Obama's speech about this sh1t today.

Knowledge is the only thing that can help Americans. We already allowed ourselves to get to a point where guns are on the streets in mass. It's american culture now. I dare them to try to take weapons away or make weapons that people love and have purchased illegal. The solution is to educate people on mental health issues, educate parents on signs of having suicidal vengeful children, and educate teachers, etc on gun training and safety. I carry everyday. No one at my job knows anything about it. Most professionals can carry concealed and everything will be ok.

I dont see anything wrong with an official having a gun. A good one. I dont see why we'd need to go to your extremes when smaller measures can be applied. The only caveat would be.

:whoa: can we trust the official with a gun

overall a dumb idea that would cause more problems than it would solve. just a few things that came to mind: suppose we have armed teachers, would they carry their weapons or store it in a lock box. if they carry it then you have the possibility of accidental or willful discharge when a teacher is around rowdy students. what if the teacher is between students fighting or horsing around and someone grabs the gun or or pull the trigger. the possibilities are endless for something stupid to happen carrying a gun all day long around kids. but what if they put them in safes or lock boxes, then have the chance of them being stolen by students now as they know that the school have guns and if anything thing actually happens they might not get to the guns fast enough. then what if a teacher wants to go off and off some kids? The simplest thing is to just assign a police patrol just as school guards to every school.

Yeah how long is it until teachers get even more censored and restricted from doing their job: teaching. So once students learn they can start trolling teachers by complaining that Mr. Anderson has been acting "suspicious" lately. Its a whole nother can of worms to be opened.

This is fukking stupid. We had a resource officer (basically school police officer) have his gun stolen at our school. Now you give a gun to every teacher in the school and you dont think the kids will wind up getting them? All thats going to happen is a teacher is going to snap one day and shoot a bunch of people (we have all seen teachers snap before) or the guns will get stolen.

What happens when the teacher goes to break up a fight and the gun falls on the ground?

Shows you that conservatives live in a parallel universe. These are trained educators not trained security guards. What parent would allow their child to attend a school were the staff is walking around with the hammer on them. That'll be blood on their hands when a child dies in a classroom because the teacher didn't properly secure their weapon.

I'm saying....

I'm all for the economic welfare of teachers and shyt. Fighting for their unions and pensions blah blah blah

but lets stop acting like 100% of teachers and 100% of principals are now the moral American standard

real talk, my principal got fired after a student found her :drunk: on the job....she was dealing with some stressful personal shyt :to:

:troll: police patrol = tax hikes to pay for the police force

Guess states will have to open up some budget money to have a police officer on school grounds, if its really a problem like that. Or like you said, set up schools like prisons and make access difficult for someone just popping up in the middle of the day.
