When I was in grade school one of the janitors passed away from a heart attack and while the administration was cleaning out his locker in the janitors office they found straps on straps. Apparently dude was keeping them there because he lived in the projects and didn't want them to be stolen. When they found them it wasn't even a big deal but this was before Columbine.
*waits for the inevitable school administrator shooting a black kid that ends up being justified tragedy*
*waits for the inevitable school administrator shooting a white kid and the national backlash that someone actually thought teachers with guns was a good idea*

This can only lead to a higher body count, imo. Once its common knowledge that faculty/staff are packing........ wouldn't the shooters just be more strategical? Killing the staff on sight. Working in groups. Shooting windows out, tossing grenades, pipe bombs etc.
Yeah a teacher can still kill the shooter(s) and prevent a massacre, but I'm gonna have to assume the school shooters would account for that already. The shooters are the only ones with the element of surprise.
I don't have a better answer, but I know arming teachers can't be the solution.
