How liberals dont see this bullsh*t ‘we’re essential’ hustle is beyond me... IT'S A PUBLIC SERVICE. And it was operating at a profit without taxpayer funds before your people swooped in.
How the right consistently hamstrings the government and then cries about the government being inefficient is beyond me as well.
The hamstringing is uncalled for, but so is it’s government enforced monopoly. Should have just lifted it’s monopoly and let It die to competition.
It’s horribly outdated and will die on its on without reforms(such as postal banking). Let’s stop pretending it was fine before rethugs came along.

Does fine equal perfect? No. But to act like they were this failing dinosaur is dishonest. I’m not denying they could/should make changes but the USPS wasn’t “failing“ until your people sabotaged them, something you’ve already admitted.USPS still had a $900 million profit the year before the GOP hamstrung them with the funding requirement. And they estimated over $3 billion the next year without the requirement.
Nobody said they were perfect but most evaluations that I've seen have said they were doing just fine. Profits ebb and flow, you know this. If a few years of losses followed by billion dollar gains is your threshold for failure then wait until you hear about these corporations getting bailed out every decade by taxpayer money.
The trajectory was clear and many dems have already conceded that without reforms it was/is doomed. In fact the entire postal banking conversation centers around its service being dated.Dont tell me you think mail volume was going to bounce back?
