It has always struck me that they don't pay attention to us because we have no real financial clout. If we were to direct our funds towards specific businesses or endeavors, our financial might would influence people. I hate to say it like this but what reason do we give others to make them want to listen to us? Unfortunately, the onus is on us to raise up and make them respect us. How do we do that? By bringing something equitable to the situation. That equitable entity is money.
How can we make a larger contingent of people respect us when they see and know this. People be worried about red/blue, black, brown and white and the only color that matters is the color of their currency.
Majority of lawmakers in 116th Congress are millionaires
As an aside, I always think about the flex this is.
How long has MSG been 'Knick's Arena' in NBA2K now? This is the world's most celebrated venue. Only two rappers are in a position to do this. Sean Combs and Shawn Carter. If Papoose, Jadakiss or Fat Joe wanted to do this, they'd tell them nikkas to go the Rucker, lol. Why though? Because Diddy and Jay's financial power, name, prestige, whatever is looked at as something tangible, as something to be gained from.
Everything in this world goes back to money. It always goes back. I thought that before I started working in finance and I know it to be the gotdamn truth now that I see the salaries of everyone. The way I see it, our generation has missed the boat but where we can set the course straight is to make sure that our kids, when they are ready, they can go to the powers that be with financial might behind them and basically be like, look here, if you don't move like this, we are going to move like this. Until we can do this, I really fail to see how they will listen to anything we say.
This is my perspective looking at it purely financially. The other alternative is to build coalitions within politics to move people and pieces over to that side. Again, that takes time too.
