After Booker Tom came out in defense of Hoegan after the racist tapes, I'm more proud of Kang than I ever have been for not putting that c00n over

the delay to the pin for the added insult still got me :banderas1:

:jbhmm: I heard it had something to do with Michael Hayes. I agree Lashley probably would've become champ but I feel like he would've been Sheamus or Del Rio status if he didn't go improve on the mic, develop a following and become more versatile in the ring like he has.
He needed a manager but we know how Vince feels about managers/valets.
The worst part of all of it Booker T was sooooo over and broke barriers with fans. He deserved that Mania moment more anyone. He was over with kids, women, white, black, and etc. It didn't matter. Booker had the fans in his corner going into WM19.
Triple H tried to justify it by saying Booker didn't need the win, and that he proved his worth even in defeat. The visual of HHH taking that long to pin Booker was fukking pathetic.

and Kang was 100% right as he was biggest with the King Booker gimmick years later, which he can thank Kang for giving him the rub at WM19 by working with them in such a high profile match

I really hated HHH during this period. I felt like the story line gave me confirmation that HHH is a real life racist, breh.

only good thing we can say is that once the feud ended, both wrestlers went their separate ways.

Booker T doesn't even care about this shyt
You are right. It's all about performance and business.

here is a shoot from Booker T about the subject.

He was real close to mainstream crossover potential. I think Shaq even mentioned him in a post game interview during the 2002-03 season going into the event. One of the absolute worst, if not the worst booking choices in the company’s history for a single match.

Until Summerslam 2007 when Booker carried the fued by himself to the ppv, just to get squashed.

I knew he was losing off the strength of being the living representation of WCW going into the match, but like others have said, it was the build that made this a pain point so many years later

What makes it worse is the poor justification given by those involved at the time

Pritchard's "explaination" on the pod ep about Mania 19 was so so so sooooo bad basically giving an all lives matter excuse

To this day it pisses me off. I had stopped watching regulary around spring/summer 2002 but came back around the time of the buildup. I figured Booker T was going to win, no way this company wouldn't do the logical thing from a kayfabe standpoint but nope! After that loss I wouldn't watch any WWE programming until the 10 year Raw anniversary later that year.

We were watching it on ppv live and when Triple H won my stepdad started clowning us "saying this what y'all get for watching this fake shyt!" :umad: My uncle who used to be wrestling fan in the 80s and 90s(mainly NWA and WCW) was PISSED. The whole household was mad like it was a legit sporting event. :mjlol::lolbron::francis::hhh::mjcry:

Company still never learned from cripple ache going over rock at mania2000.

Company is inept.

I don’t buy that, I think he’s being a good company guy not to shyt on the angle/not winning the title. In his heart of hearts, I bet he wasn’t happy losing in probably his biggest match of his career. The fact he admitted people in the office thought he should’ve won is a subtle way of showing he wanted that moment as the WHC.
