I been to this spot before ...but I figured since it was a "Grown and Sexy spot" no one under 25 allowed entry it would be all good

Fifth victim dies after Halloween party shooting at Airbnb in Orinda :



Five Bay Area residents were killed and at least four others injured on Halloween night when gunfire erupted at an Orinda home that had been rented on Airbnb for an event billed on social media as a “mansion party.”

Neighbors described a loud and unruly gathering in which more than 100 attendees packed into the home at 114 Lucille Way before a volley of shots rang out around 10:50 p.m. Thursday, sending people scrambling for cover.

Officials said deputies were on their way to the home to check on a noise complaint when the shooting started. They arrived to find people running for their lives and three victims suffering from gunshot wounds who were later pronounced dead at the scene.
The president of Laney College in Oakland, Tammeil Gilkerson, said there had been reports connecting the party to the school, but it “was not a school-coordinated event and we have not been able to officially confirm a connection with our students.”

However, Gilkerson said the school has been in touch with investigators and was planning drop-in grief counseling for students on Monday.

“I am deeply saddened to learn about the shooting in Orinda last night,” Gilkerson said in a statement. “My heart goes out to the victims, their families and loved ones.”

People from across the region flocked to the home for the party that had been advertised on social media, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.


Paramedics rushed wounded victims to hospitals, and other victims drove themselves. Cook said Friday that more victims might come forward.

An Instagram post circulated online advertised an “Airbnb Mansion Party,” but officials did not immediately provide details.

The party’s host rented the house through Airbnb and claimed she was holding a family reunion for 12 people, said Michael Wang, who purchased the home around two years ago. Wang, 58, said the woman who rented the home said she was from Lafayette and planned to have a family reunion at the property after “going through issues.”


He said he began getting calls from neighbors about the party Thursday night and called police after looking on his home security camera and seeing well over a dozen people at the home.

“We called the police. They were on the way to go there to stop them, but before we got there, the neighbor already sent us a message saying there was a shooting,” he told The Chronicle in a phone interview. “When we arrived there, the police were already there.”

Airbnb officials said in a statement that the party was unauthorized by the host, who “specifically banned parties” in his listing. The home has since been removed from the company’s website, and the person who booked the rental was banned from the marketplace, Airbnb spokesman Ben Breit said.


Student says friends were at party where 5 killed

“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims of this abhorrent act as well as the neighbors of the home,” he said in the statement.

Neighbors had complained multiple times about previous disruptive parties at the home, and the city had sent the owner two “notices of violation” of regulations — one for exceeding the maximum occupancy and another for parking.


Things were relatively quiet in recent months at the home until Thursday’s blowout turned into a massacre.

Four people were taken to Walnut Creek Medical Center, the county’s trauma center, said Ben Drew, a hospital spokesman earlier Friday. One person died shortly after arriving. One more person was listed in critical condition, one was in serious condition, and one was treated and released.

Romond Reynolds said his 24-year-old son was shot three or four times and was at the hospital in stable condition. He stopped by the scene Friday morning to pick up his car, which his son, Armani Reynolds, had borrowed to go to the party.

“I don’t like it, and I don’t understand it,” Romond Reynolds said of the shooting.


Family members of other victims sat somberly in the hospital’s waiting room Friday morning and declined to comment.

Investigators at the shooting scene taped off the area and searched for evidence along the winding street leading to the four-bedroom, 3,972-square-foot home south of the city’s downtown and just east of Highway 24.
