The only witness they wanted to question was the congresswoman who talked about the Trump/McCarthy convo. They were able to get her statement into evidence. If they would have extended the trial, it wouldn't have changed a gotdamn thing as republicans would have still voted to acquit and they would have unleashed 100's of faux witnesses to delay the trial for weeks so people wouldn't have got their Stimulus checks and other shyt on time. Biden would not have been able to get his cabinet and all of that confirmed either.
