The senate will be run by Democrats. Mitch refused to come back and get the votes until 1/19. If he is convicted, he can’t run for federal office again. They only need 50 votes. Democrats already got them. They need 2/3 of the senate to vote to remove him but by then Trump would be long gone and that does not apply and not necessary.

With Trump being impeached twice and convicted he loses on his pension, his briefings, his free secret service security, his 1 mil travel allowance and all the other perks that come with being an ex president. Trump has not realized those implications yet. Nobody has told him because they are afraid he willl do something very drastic.
