My area is irrelevant when it comes to "real" hip hop, that's a fact, but the influence this "shyt hole town full of tumbleweeds" has had on hip-hop/R&B/pop music over that last 15-20 years can not be denied.

We have real talent all over the place (ie. Timbaland, Missy, Pharrell, Danja, D.R.A.M., Clipse) and even in sports (ie. Iverson, Vick, Lawrence Taylor, Bruce Smith, Kam Chancellor, the Upton Brothers, Joe Smith, Alonzo Mourning), that never had to fall back on where they're from to get their name poppin.

Their talent speaks for itself.

They are regular nikkas, influenced by NY street hip hop like we all were back then, that recycled them 90s stories/bars for 00s era rap fans.

I will admit, they did it very well, but again, I can't cosign it because it's not really them.

I've never met one nikka in my life that could vouch for them nikkas on some true to life street shyt.

Believe me, when they first dropped, I believed them and looked for anybody from Norfolk or out the Beach that could vouch for them, and tell me they heard of them nikkas before rap.

I never found one nikka that could stamp them.

I can't say 100% that they didn't get busy, but this is a small area, if you're moving like they claim they did, somebody would be able to certify their claims.

I've never seen or heard it, and this is when I was moving in circles where them nikkas name would ring bells if they was official.



I used to get my dope from out Ol' Huntersville in Norfolk back in the early 00s, about 10 minutes from Berkley and Norview in either direction, the two neighborhoods this video was shot in.
