So they're counting on people to pay money to go watch Smackdown when WWE is live on TV that same night.

They must not give a fukk.

The thinking is they don't want pay SD wrestlers money just to sit at a hotel on Monday nights. I don't know what guys make per show but maybe they break even on Mondays thanks to RAW and those few loyal fans that show up.

You'd think there would be some type of cost just to use the arena for that day no?

fukk do they expect.

They run TV from

Mon-Wed - Regularly
Sun-Wed - PPV Weeks
Sat-Wed - PPV (NXT) Weeks

plus they run house shows during RAW/SD as well.

Running the product into the ground while cutting the budget any chance they get.

This what happens when you let a women run the company.

Steph has single handley ruined the WWE.

How have RAW house shows drawn the last couple of months? Has Braun becoming a star helped them anything? If it hasn't they need to really start to worry.
What's the actual practical point of house shows?

Don't they oversaturate the market, overwork and demotivate the wrestlers and miss out on creating anticipation this way?

Wouldn't it be better to obly wrestle on Raw, Wackdown and PPVs?

'Wrestlers sitting around in their hotel' is also 'wrestlers resting up and having moee big match prep time.

Less would be more in this case

It's still a revenue stream for WWE, it may not be what it was 20 or even 10 years ago but it's still part of the company's core business.

They don't over saturate the markets because they travel all over the US and the world, there's no indication they've killed towns because they go too much for house shows - maybe an argument could be made for Brooklyn this year, but those were all taped shows - and wrestlers tend to like live events waaay more than TV and PPVs so they don't fukk up morale either. In a lot of cases they are used for the workers to try shyt up before doing it on TV or just have more fun while wrestling without the pressure nor time limitations of taped stuff.

Could they do less shows? sure, and a break for the talent is something that fans have discussed for years. But I wouldn't call house shows "impractical".
