Naw... My whole thing is he called them cowards to the media AFTER he had confronted them behind closed doors...


His direct quote was that he burst in the locker room and said "Which one of you think's Tebow is terrible!?!?!"

If the story was due to shotty reporting and old quotes I would hope the players would stand up for themselves and tell Rex :sitdown:

Rex Ryan lashes into New York Jets for 'cowardly' Tim Tebow report - ESPN New York

Several unnamed players, in a New York Daily News story, were critical of Tebow's ability as a quarterback. One player said Tebow is "terrible." Another player told ESPNNewYork.com the team has no choice but to stick with the slumping Mark Sanchez because "we have no other viable option."

Ryan confirmed he addressed the issue in his team meeting.
"I feel for Tim," Sanchez said. "That sucks, it just sucks. It can't feel good. But at the same time, I've been there. You wake up the next day and you keep playing."

The larger issue for Ryan, whose 3-6 team has dropped three straight, is maintaining team chemistry. He made it his "personal agenda" after last season to repair the inner strife, but this latest development certainly raises questions about his ability to keep dirty laundry in-house.

"Quite honestly, I feel extremely confident this football team is coming closer together, than what maybe is being thought of as pulling apart," Ryan said. "I definitely don't see that."

Ryan even said this latest controversy could help the team.

If the shyt was from last year why address it now? I think Ryan knows something we dont know.

This writer should be fired, there's no way you run several month old quotes like they were said yesterday and not know it would be exposed immediately. What was Mehta's excuse going to be when the players revealed when the statements were originally said? Hopefully this kills the whole "anonymous statement" the media likes to fall back on now.

I hear you, but things spiral out of control easily when built on a lie.

He could've went in there and said that and got hit with the :childplease:

All any individual player knows is that they personally didn't speak to this reporter, so when Rex asks that question, they'd all remain quiet...prompting Rex to call them cowards.

Reminds me of when Vlad said "Ross, Trick Daddy said you're a CO" and stuck a mic in his face and Ross just started firing away without even checking to see if it were true.
