No shine whatsoever... obviously he’s Jeans boyfriend, but outside of that he’s not really central to the film. Beast has a larger role than he does

:beli: I shouldn't be surprised. The merger can't happen soon enough.
Good looking out though, OP, I appreciate the info :salute:

So my review...

If you’re a fan of the X-Men franchise, you’ll enjoy the movie. It wasn’t great, but it’s not bad by any means. More of the same..

I thought the action was good for the most part, and there were a couple wow moments from my guy Nightcrawler, but the movie itself felt a little rushed. There’s pretty much no build up to Jean becoming Phoenix.. her transition is so sudden, it didn’t seem natural. One minute she’s a sweet smiling girl, and the next she’s trying to fukkin kill Charles.. if any movie needed a longer runtime, it’s this one..

There’s also no real explanation of Chastain and her goons. We don’t get a motive or insight where they even came from, it’s just stated that they aren’t human or mutant and that’s it.. maybe if I was more familiar with the source material it would make sense?

I thought maybe she was some villain from the comics, but even the survey we got at the end simply referred to her character as “Alien.”... so yeah

:francis:

Other gripe I had was Storm’s accent. Cute actress but that shyts awful.. also not nearly enough new mutants introduced, and Quicksilver needed WAY more screentime. Dude was in the movie for about 5 minutes. SMH

But again, not bad. Movie had a bit of emotion in it which shocked me.. The cool action sequences, and seeing Jean catch a body is worth a watch. Wouldn’t go out of my way to see it though..

Is it true fox used the skrulls for this movie?

@Larry Legend

Over 20 years of garbage X-Men movies....unbelievable

I had to google what Skrulls were because again, not that familiar with the source material

But after doing my googles

Yeap. I’m assuming that’s what Jessica Chastain and her goon squad were..

They never specifically say it though

I don’t know breh I think it’s going to draw a lot of :dwillhuh:from audience members wondering why Thor and everyone else get a pass but people like Storm, Magneto, Professor X etc... are all hated.
Even in the comics...:pachaha: it makes no sense...:mjlol: especially now...

It makes plenty of sense.

The X-Men are the black people of the Marvel universe, they are the oppressed.

They're separate from humanity because of their mutation. The Avengers are accepted because they're well known as an outfit and mostly human who have been enhanced by tech and science.

The main ones are public figures, they are even registered government operatives at this point in the story, and the only one who has a secret identity is Peter. (ironically, given Civil War)

While some mutants can blend in with the rest of humanity, a lot of them can't. Either because of appearance or something that they can do that can't be explained away with science or technology. The minute the rest of the world finds out that there are people being BORN different with powers, who are actively hiding who they are, you'll see a completely different reception than The Avengers get from the public.

Magneto and Xavier are based on MLK and Malcom X because of their philosophy on dealing with how society looks at mutants as opposed to the "hero's". They haven't even acknowledged that Scarlet Witch is a mutant but look at how they reacted to her wrecking shyt, she's clearly different, more dangerous than the others.

The mutants would have had to existed before the avengers but had been hidden from society because quick silver already existed in avengers 2.

They could jump right into the phoenix saga and say they were in space fighting the Shiar empire during the time of Thanos.

Wanda is the key. Mutants are born with the X-gene but it needs to be activated somehow, stress, radioactivity, exposure to strange sources of power ect. We know that the two 'mutants' in the MCU that we know of were presumably activated by an infinity stone.

There could (and should) already be a decent number of mutants in hiding already and many more people with the dormant x-gene. You expose those people to infinity stones (the snap), the minute you undo that bytch, you're going to trigger a lot of latent mutant abilities, making it harder for the core group to stay on the low.

Fury might even already know about them and be working with Professor X using his power to keep the public from being aware or remembering anything about them when something has popped off. Even in the OG movies, they didn't just appear, they had been alive and doing things long before they went public and were deemed a threat and being forced to register themselves.

People already shook of Wanda...once people know what mutants are and that's she's one of them :whoo:
