wouldnt they have bird rights to resign him over the cap? I assume they expect to sign an extension
If that's what they intend to do then that means they are basically not gonna bother trying to get Kyrie this off-season

Kinda feel like D'Lo is basically like another sabo but I guess he's better as a player currently. He's not actually good though I swear

Actually I don't like this trade at all. D'Lo not worth giving up a 1st round pick for. Minnesota already made that mistake

I think the DLO signing is an asset for a sign and trade to the Mavs when Kyrie doesn't re-sign with them in the offseason.
Why would the Mavs do that when they’d have the cap space to sign DLo outright in the off-season? It was the exact reason why they never got anything into in return for Brunson.

Because they can sign other players with cap space then use Kyrie to get DLO

Albeit… a double S&T is rare tho as it would hard cap both teams ..but it is doable

Lakers would definitely have to throw extra stuff and that’s hard for teams to turn down. Mavs don’t really have a good track record with FA. You take what you can get.

The Mavs would tell the Lakers to suck a dikk
Why they helping them get Kyrie? :mjlol:
They would be helping themselves …you nikkas have to get out of this bitter baby mama mentality when it comes to handling business

This is obviously only an option if Kyrie tells the Mavs he doesn’t want to resign or they can lose him for nothing trying to be “show the lakers who’s boss” …and the lakers keep DLO :manny:

ya it’s great foresight on the lakers part if things play out that way…ironically dlo was used the same way when KD left GS

If they were going to settle with DLo, then they would have been better off just keeping Dinwiddie. Assets from the Lakers isn’t worth doing an S&T with him especially when they’re on borrowed time with Luka.

They traded for Kyrie. Their hope is for Kyrie to stay, this is only last resort. Teams are not gonna turn down assets for a last resort situation. If lakers throw in Vanderbilt, mavs are not saying no. Mavs are on borrowed time in any context, best hope would be for Kyrie to work out.
