3) Trump as the new president comes along and prevent the app from shutting down immediately.

1a) Trump issues another executive order giving them a 90 day window to sell or spin-off their US business.

2) Biden revokes the previous administration's executive orders and directes the Secretary of Commerce to investigate TikTok's potential security threats.

3) Biden's administration continues the investigation into TikTok's data privacy practices, national security concerns, and potential influence from the Chinese government.

3a) Individual states and some federal agencies begin restricting TikTok use on government devices.

4) The House passes H.R. 7521, banning TikTok unless ByteDance divests its ownership.

5) Biden signed the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act into law.

6) SCOTUS upholds the constitutionality of the Act enforcing the deadline to divest.

7) TikTok goes dark even though the ban wasn't being enforced. A likely publicity stunt to curry favor with Trump.
