Most of them did not prepare. A lot are complaining it was a full time job and now they don't have a job. I do think Trump will reverse it though.
This is still scary tho, not the app being banned, just the complete lack of foresight on the people who live off of that money

this is the risk you take when your job is on a platform you don't own, quite literally any of the major social media sites could decide to close down, just because they're popular doesn't mean they magically became federal owned things that the public always has access to, same with YouTube and twitch.

People really need to get a grip on their entitlement and always consider the reality of what could happen, even the concept of getting paid for views is a godsend, don't take that shyt for granted and get caught lacking like this again

Don't really see how it's much different from working for a company that closes down but :yeshrug:

@OrganizerMemes
AOC on the ban

@Definingf8
It's an Aipac/ADL corporate takeover, let's be honest. TikTok was never a problem until pro-palestinian accts started getting huge traction.

3/41
@saiine
It's pointless to show static user data to those who can't see how a sophisticated model could exploit it. Many US TikTok users likely had location services on, which is obviously scary. It would be far more useful if representatives were actually technical.

4/41
@GHRadio_Mavrick
Still waiting on AOC to put accountability on the administration in charge

5/41
@_everythingism
There's no surprise here. If you thought the very serious people in Washington had serious, well thought out reasons for banning TikTok you're probably wrong...the only rationale is that it's a Chinese app that's popular.

6/41
@shanewallick
My opinion of her just went down because she voted against the ban

7/41
@HalifaxCB
So what AOC is saying is that Congress voted to pass legislation that it didn't understand? Why am I not surprised? Though I do think the AIPAC-owned members understood very well.

8/41
@ImSpartacus18
She has creepy eyes.

9/41
@alreadydawn_
Uhhh based AOC??

What an unrelenting performer! A base grifter. A liar.

@ParisSorel
She’s useless In my opinion.
Signed: Queens. NYC Constituent.

@OrganizerMemes
You're using Fox News articles to make your point you've already lost

14/41
@GoldMonkeyTales
it was AIPAC. just say it

15/41
@reviewstuffs
They absolutely thought they could force Tiktok to sell to American companies..because their Zionist handlers persuaded them to control the narrative on Israel's genocide of Palestine.

They didn't think Americans would find an alternative app instead. Losing all control instead.

16/41
@PreztenWard
The billionaire tech-bros who own our politicians wanted less competition.

17/41
@alwiseman_
The part about cooperations & other forms of data collecting already get our info without consent is literally so real

18/41
@ccnameisfriday
There was plenty of information

“There no real information given” - AOC

That’s all we needed to know. We are getting controlled and nobody can question why.

20/41
@OceanBlues99
100% If only you could see/say that freedom wins over safety (of the status quo & establishment) when it comes to censorship and health choice freedom (larger issue than just abortion).

21/41
@EvrybodyH8sRylo
She forgot to add cohngris ppl investigating in metta stock after write the tihtohk ban bill. That is pretty significant as well & shows how if u have enough money, u can influence & change laws & not for the benefit of the majority of amerikans but for your personal gain

22/41
@mosh_pite
TikTok ban was because of the Jews and Israel , because of them and their feelings we have to use isnstagram😒

23/41
@extra_beef_
She's so completely full of shyt.

24/41
@Jonnywsbell
She's not a serious politician, she's a cultist...

This country has never allowed foreign media channels except with allies. How is this any different? They did however let the problem get too big. I wonder if she is pro a Russian news network as well.

27/41
@EllieWestside
Follow the $ right to politicians pockets.

28/41
@DjFred_Eddison
Not rushed since trump initiated the ban

29/41
@JonDArsen
It's not the first time AOC has been wrong about something.

30/41
@Chris_H_Politic
Perfectly stated

31/41
@kshimm72
We need to get rid of ALL the old ppl in congress, it’s ridiculous how out of touch some members are on both sides

32/41
@twgposeidon
So this explains why Grindr is trash now!

33/41
@LSStitchnbytch
Duh. Why wasn't @AOC talking about this like a year ago when she found this out?

34/41
@PendulumArcana
She’s involved in the skit

35/41
@CaptainStubie8
I don't necessarily agree with her about this, but it does seem to be a valid opinion, and she could ultimately be right.

36/41
@Jerid76
"Just a forced sale"

37/41
@Fynagle
One to two weeks is not fast compared to the TWO DAYS it took to make the original tiktok bsn bill. Also time to go see if AOC made any effort to combat this Captain Obvious problem…

38/41
@Hazel_Samantha_
The Supreme Court was able to see all of it because they’re the highest court in the land. That’s what changed our minds overnight.

39/41
@npatel1143
I am sure she is loosing good amount of income after this ban.

40/41
@Hazel_Samantha_
A lot of of us and Security said that they should be able to be shown to the public, but she’s in fact incorrect. They were not giving the full details of what has been occurring because they don’t even have the clearance to see it.

41/41
@pascal5207
You can’t both condemn the CCP and big tech?!

That's how it should be, but people do not work like this.

An executive order can override an established law?

:patrice:

I mean, the shyt is banned…by law. Wouldn’t it take another law to unban it?
That's the biggest problem here. These perpetually online zombies are complaining about memes when the executive branch is overreacting, yet a fukking again, and people are cheering for it.

thats why decentralized platforms is the future so people aren't reliant on a single platform and data portability and federated protocols allows for people to communicate more freely.

Valid point.

I was at a semi-formal event last night and the person was asking telling Tik Tok jokesabout only a "few more hours" but was kind of serious too.

The snow has hit everywhere, but follks is already melting down

Actually I want tiktok to shut down, let them go get a real job :mjgrin:
