I work in IT, and it's insane how many "Cybersecurity professionals" in this field are crying over Chinese spyware being banned. TikTok literally farms your data on your device and sends it straight to the CCP.

This isn't the same as Facebook, Google, or Apple taking your data and selling it for advertisement purposes. China will force user data to be handed to them from companies without a subpoena. But fukk it; I guess the TikTok shop is more important than foreign adversaries farming data and using it to influence our population.

Idiots like @CrimsonTider ain't trying to hear all that logic. They just want them crazy cat videos to keep rolling.

Idk man they've been calling the app Chinese Spyware since it initially launched stateside and numerous people in the cybersecurity sector seemed to not even wanna touch it. If its deemed a threat to national security then the government should have a right to ban it for the good of the country no?
There's a difference between censorship and safety. I think you strongly believe there is nothing malicious about tiktok and that it is not a threat but how do you know for sure?
