This nikka voice don't age.

“I own my masters,” LL Cool J explained during an appearance on “Sway’s Universe,” noting that he has owned the exclusive rights to every single album of his for more than two decades.

He added, “I’ve owned them for 20-something years. So when you hear ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’ in a movie and stuff like that, like, I’ve licensed those songs…I own all them joints.”

This nikka voice is a golden money tree.

There are old school rappers younger than LL and they sound old at this point. LL still sounds crisp at 55 years old. Rap Pavarotti.

14 shots to the dome was a disaster. Especially coming off the platinum/grammy winning Mama Said knock you out. I think that Def Jam just chose the wrong singles. "Stand by your man" should have been the first single. followed by Pink cookies, then the pink cookies Mo Bee remix(which was hot). Listening to it when it came out, i didn't even like it until years later I listened to it and realized that the beats were dope as fukk, but we just weren't used to hearing LL on beats that hard. That was some Lords of the Underground/Onyx type shyt.. the crazy thing is that Monica 2 years later had a hit and sold millions based upon a song that people shytted on LL for lol. you can't make this up. (back seat of my jeep).

I feel like Stand By Your Man would've possibly been an even bigger misfire as a first single... it was a lil' too cheesy to hit either way. His best bet woulda been Back Seat or Pink Cookies to lead off. He was tryin' to bring some "Mama Said" energy with that "How I'm Comin" single and it didn't match up the same way. Album was just all over the place. I don't really know what coulda made it better or more successful, I don't think he or Marley were locked in like they were with the Mama Said album.

L gonna do it to these meatballs...

The clip is insane though. L sounds like he hasn't missed a step, isn't trend chasing and sounds fresh in the 88 sense. Effortless.
