Unpopular opinion: The 5 best seasons of Dexter are better than Breaking Bad's 5

Seasons 1-4 are dope and have Clyde Phillips as the show runner. I don't know if you're familiar with the term, a show runner is basically the guy that makes all the creative decisions on the show.

Chip Johannessen was the show runner for season 5.

Scott Buck was the show runner for seasons 6-8.

Ideally a heavily serialized show would only have one show runner. The fact that they changed show runners three times fukked the show up. Then on top of that Scott Buck was awful.

I can see it for the pace.

If someone doesnt like the pace of Season 1, how is the rest of the show any different? Both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul (same showrunners) run at the same slow, meticulous pace.

Dexter's supercop sister kills the Police Captain instead of taking down her serial killer brother because she dreams about having sex with him??

BCS was lowkey so-so the 1st couple of seasons . The last couple of seasons (which have been great) got people repainting the whole series overall with a new brush.

First you can start here with the Coli's opinion. Mostly great responses while the season was going on and then after. Then google opinions on the season and the sentiment is generally the same. Season 7 was an innocent casualty of the trash final season.

But like I said the "everything after season 4 was trash" herd mentality is very strong.
