I don't get this specific argument just cause historically, halftime acts have been legacy acts that are years past their relevance. The super bowl doesnt usually do current hot artists in the show.

Now the argument that his songs wont translate well to a show and the CAC audience will only recognize a few is valid

Disagree, his resume and legacy on the music industry speaks for itself even if you’re not a fan, he could definitely have headlined this year in his hometown no issues, and this is without even mentioning the potential guests he could have brought out

To quote "The Wire", deserve ain't got nothing to do with it.

He has showed up late and/or walked out of multiple shows in the last 3-4 months. The L.A. show in particular he was 3 hours late then walked out.

Let alone that god awful Wrestlemania performance.

None of this inspires confidence that he could pull off a Superbowl level event. Which is what I said in another thread. People are coming up with all these crazy conspiracy theories about Jay vs Wanye....it's completely possible he wasn't considered, due to his track record lately.

The real reason why Wayne isn't doing it because he's been unreliable and unprofessional for his whole career. Anyone who has worked with him will tell you that. He's missed soundchecks, meetings, rehearsals, everything you can name. Kendrick is going to spend the rest of the rehearsing and get everything right for a free 10 minute concert for the world. Lil Wayne has never shown that he took shows seriously and the NFL is not going to take a chance like that on a dude who has a history of flaking and doing shows high on drugs.

nikkas need to let it go. Wayne can't blame anyone but Wayne for missing this bag.

What would Wayne perform? Wayne best songs are him just rapping . And he’s rapping about nothing on them.

Even 10 years ago... what was he gonna perform? Lollipop? A Millie? 6'7? Mrs Officer?

You think the mainstream 35+ NFL cac audience ever heard of these songs?

Wayne's music aged poorly.

He’d bring out Skip Bayless and perform that shytty ahh Undisputed intro :mjlol:

:yeshrug:Wayne has the legacy, achievements, and music to pull it off. But bro is a horrible performer, washed from years of drug abuse, and unprofessional/unreliable. Prime Wayne would’ve killed it tho. Just like a prime Kanye but both of them are fried.

In 2013 he could not in 2025 though and I say this respectfully. lil wayne is great in the studio. As a performer though

I’ll never forget when that nikka was on stage and started fukking with the guitar and all that nikka was producing was fukkin noise. The nikka thought he was hot shyt too. nikka fiddling with that one fukkin guitar string.

:mjlol:

But he still a goat nonetheless.
