it was routine for the most successful gangster rappers to keep some real hood dudes around them and get them record deals just to have em around for street cred and get inspiration/material from them with their life stories and such

if you listen to cube throughout his career his style changed with every different street nikka he had around him as his prodeje at the time

he was on that nation of islam bs when he was fukkin with lench mob and kam, he sounded a different when he was hanging with cypress, he sounded a certain way when he had mack 10 with him, and he was on that yayeeeyay bs when he had short khop

tupac did this with outlawz, eazy with bg knocc out /dresta, snoop with the eastsidaz, em with d12, mobb deep did it with infamous mobb, etc

eventually they have taken what they can from these dudes and if these dudes don't have they intellegence to do something for themselves they end up back where they started. broke or in jail.

they pretty much get used but its they own fault for not realizing it and doing something for themselves while the getting is good.

cube fukked up backstabbing cypress hill though. they had they own thing established. they weren't to be fukked with and they taught him a lesson.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I always thought it was ill how they handled it. It was clear that him and Proof were distant towards the end but it never was really public, Royce dissed Em (more of a jab, really) but Em never really responded so they were able to patch it up pretty easily. All of the dudes that were on Shady that got dropped never really had anything bad to say about dude

Same with Snoop, I remember the Pimp Slapp'd joint he did, but he squashed everything and no one really has anything bad to say about him at all anymore

Always seemed like they balanced business and friendship quite well
:what: snoop has had problems with damn near everyone he's fukked wit at one point...

so your calling him dumb for leaving ruthless?
No, saying I am not surprised by this but I am. At end of day I guess hes just a businessman. He might do coors light commercials and kids movies but he always been cube. He made some sell out moves but never sold out, I guess thats business.

Musically Cube cemented his legendary status by 1992. If he tragically died that year, he'd be in the goat conversation.
But he's made a lot of low character moves. The list in the original post isn't nearly complete.

Let's not forget he jacked Volume 10's whole style for "Guerillas In Da Mist", "Wicked" and other joints.

Let's not forget that when Del put the Hiero crew on, he tried to come out with a knockoff Souls of Mischief group (Anotha Level).

I'm sure there is more that will come to mind. He presents himself well, but you can't ignore all the shiesty moves he's made over the years.

A lot of this sounds like dudes whose careers never really popped off, having issues with the personality of a much more successful brother. Gossip and hearsay doesn't change the contributions that Cube's made to Hip Hop. Dude's a legend. Easily one of the best MC's from '89-'93. I really don't care who has personal issues with that man, his music is what matters. And nobody talkin' about him has contributed anywhere close to the level that he has.

Really sounds like dudes mad at Cube for not helping them out more and a bunch of "he said, she said".

Im sayin especially Kam & Pooh

I hope they callin Pooh a Bum when they throw on GTA V & SA AND Friday:sas1:
Exactly. If nikkas aren't on the radio every second these people think they never made contributions to Hip Hop. Idiots.
