Internally Silverlake apparently told him he had until the end of 2024 to get the stock back to 10x. Don’t know if that played a part in his decision but I imagine Silverlake wasn’t happy to see the stock crash after the Apple Vision announcement.
Combine that with his sycophants, signing off on Marc Whitten’s dumbass runtime fees and RTO he made a lot of enemies.
The board of directors probably approved of those fees until it blew up in their faces.

That’s JR’s job and he went along with it. He is the Peter principle made flesh, instead of focusing on our core products he made acquisition after acquisition all ended up as huge failures. Weta Tools (Already had Ziva) which arguably used more in-house than by costumers, Shuttered their XR division, and had 3 reorgs in one year and saw the stock crash from a ATH of 250 to 22.
That’s not even including the IronSource acquisition coming in to gut Unity Ads, that’s another core product gone because they fukked up royally with Apple ads. JR has ruined EA and Unity with his massive incompetence.

They already saying the largest round of layoffs and office closures in January. We had already closed satellite offices this year.
