It should happen way more often but folks are mad at the wrong people and go after low hanging fruit . The Uber rich should always have to look over their shoulder because they didn’t get that money clean, none of them:ufdup:
They’d rather blame immigrants for all their woes.

The death threat part aspect is something but outside of that it doesn’t surprise me at all.

These CEO’s don’t have no type of notoriety outside of the ones of major tech companies like Musk, Cook, Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg.

The UHC guy has probably walked around hundreds of times with no security. From my understanding the hotel he was staying at was across the street from the one where the conference was being held.

For him, he thought it was just another day, same old routine as the day before and then lights out. :francis:
I still can’t wrap my head around a CEO of a major company (that has received many threats already) walking around Manhattan without Security. I know school Superintendents with a 4 man security detail :mindblown:

You'd be surprised how vulnerable and exposed a lot of high profile people are. They're just regular people like us. They go to grocery stores, restaurants, airports etc.

I wrote this earlier in the thread - most CEOs just look like normal businessmen in suits, especially in Midtown Manhattan. That is why such a shooting attracts so much attention - these business people walk around with the presumption of anonymity that gets shattered with something like this. Plus remember - this guy was a CEO of a division of UNH. He wasn’t even the main CEO of the entire group. He probably saw himself as just some 50 year old country boy from Iowa that rose up the ranks from accounting to executive and made it. Nobody would have known who this guy was outside of investors and industry professionals. I guess the “threats” should have concerned them but I am sure insurance execs get bullshyt threats every day.

Also - investor conferences can have huge concentrations of executives. Let’s say there is some health care conference put on by a healthcare organization or an investment bank. You can have 100 public companies attending. That could be a CEO and CFO per company. That’s 200+ millionaires in a building walking around, meeting like it’s nothing. I am surprised you don’t see theft rings try to hit these events (but I guess there probably isn’t much to steal outside of a watch or a bag). Sometimes at these conferences, if you know there will be protests (people like JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon, or some oil executive or something), corporate security is tight, but otherwise it’s pretty lax.

If the reaction to this shooting is indicative though, expect more copy cat attempts, and therefore more corporate security / more executives walking around strapped themselves / etc

It’s time for the poor and middle class to eat the uber rich :demonic:
