Shows someone proficient with guns or learned how from the internet. Someone with time on their hands.

Highly motivated
Organized
High risk attack

The killer of that other CEO in 2020, intentionally planned it like a "professional killer" would, which I caught right away and it felt like someone imitating what they saw in movies. Turned out to be some goofy PA who was buying his girl purses with the stolen money.

It's never a professional hitman. If someone can point me to ONE case of a real life professional hitman, then I'll stand corrected.

There are generally three/four type of homicide: personal cause, sexual pleasure, criminal enterprise, poltically motivated homicide My guess is this is personal cause.

Someone who became obsessed with him online, some righteous cause. Thinks he's getting rid of evil or whatever. That's not an unreasonable theory either. But, any CEO high profile is going to have some threats or weird shyt in his inbox.

Reminds me of Brandon Woodwards case, who was a 20 something black man executed In Midtown in 2012, over drug trafficking. Turned out he was part of a crew of college educated guys who mailed bricks from LA to an NYC based drug distribution network. Someone burned someone over a shipment, and they killed this kid Brandon.

But, it wasn't a Mexican cartel or a professional hitman, it was just one of the goons from the network. Think the feds rolled up the crew, and the Manhattan DA's office prosecuted Woodwards killer.

Was his schedule public? Like he had a 8:00 AM speaking engagement that would be known to conference goers? Had to know where he was speaking and where he was staying, and what time.

The silencer just shows a lot of pre meditation and planning, highly motivated person. And that the shooter understood the risks involved, tried to mitigate them with a silencer. Not impulsive or done in the moment. Laying in wait. You could watch The Killer on Netflix, and decide that will help you.
