Any win the WCW/ECW guys got at the time was through count out , DQ, massive interference, and a rollups. The WWF guys were all getting emphatic definitive wins, even the lower tier guys. I’m not about to have people flat out lie about what happened when I was still very much an avid watcher around that time. You can lie to me about current stuff cause I’m not that in tune with it, but you’re not fooling me with anything from 2008 and back.

Rise to Stardom? He was already in the "Bad Thing/Good Thing" gimmick, fighting for the EUROPEAN title.This was a guy who split the crowd facing Goldberg at his peak.
And it's not even like they just used the stalker gimmick to introduce him, then let him rock as his usual heel persona vs Taker, they had him double down with creep talk at Sara, blair witch vignettes, bringing Sara on screen, having her face DDP in a match, etc. Even the catchphrase they gave him "Make me famous" already downplays the aura he had.
Taker had ultimate clout, he could have realized this was not the best way to utilize DDP and got Vince to change it, but we know how he felt about these WCW stars based on the clip in OP...

The truth is that whoever won the war was going to diminish the losing company's wrestlers. Since WWE won we can talk about how they mishandled DDP, but are we really going to sit here and act like WCW wouldn't have tried to humble HHH?
