After hearing Shaq talk about Derrick Williams Jeff Green and Rudy Gay has some of the more underachieving players in the league who else could/should be on this list. I think of guys like JR Smith who can dribble drive and shoot he just doesn't have the IQ and thinks a 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock is a good shot for him to take. But physically and athletically he should have been the 2nd best two guard in the league after Kobe in the mid 2000's. He showed flashes and the year he won 6th man of the year many thought he had turned the corner but he is still the same player after all these years.

derrick Williams 24 years old :beli:
Yeah but at this point if he doesn't get it he never will. We used to say the same thing about JR remember and now all these years later he is still the same player. I hope the light turns on for Derrick one day but it's getting late in his career for him to do it. You say he is only 24 which is true but this is his 5th year in the league and he has only scored in double figures once and that was back in his second year in the league.

Someone like Derrick Williams underachieving because he doesn't get starting minutes. You can't live up to #2 pick potential when you're a bench player. It happens to many players really.

Rubio is definitely one of them. Even Kidd who people called Ason had 16 and 17 PPG years. He's 6'4" and slim no reason he can't get a jumper.

Josh Smith. Dwight Howard. Tyreke Evans. Obviously not to the same extent as the guys OP mentioned or Rubio but they could've been a lot more. Especially Smith and Evans.

Dwight Howard (10+ years in the league and no post game)
Deandre Jordan (Same as Dwight, super athlete and no post game. If he had some post moves he'd be unstoppable)
Michael Carter-Williams (If he can get a consistent mid range game he could be a top guard in the league)
James Harden (Great scorer, but you can see when he's not into the game)
Derrick Rose (Knee injuries have made him hesitant to use his athleticism. I think he could still play at MVP level if he really wanted to.)
Carmelo Anthony (Great scorer, still hasn't taken his team to the next level, he'll score points but doesn't make his teammates better)

John Wall - great young player but has he gotten better over the last 3 years? Still can't shoot, has never averaged over 20 ppg, just seems like he can't take that next step to be a top 10, top 5 player. He flies so under the radar.

Rajon Rondo - Having somewhat of a bounce back year, is shooting about average from 3, but still can't make free throws. Makes no sense! If he could be a legit scoring threat he would have been an annual MVP candidate.

Ben McLemore - has been getting plenty of opportunity but it's his 3rd year and hasn't shown any star potential, even with all the tools... Hasn't even scored at least 20 points yet this season.

Kings have a lot of underachievers actually...

Lance Stephenson - should have never left the Pacers. Might be out the league soon.

OJ Mayo - is the same player since his rookie year.
