Some dudes strip people imo you can achieve the same effect (show that your opponent is defeated, vulnerable, no more fight in them) with less effort or demonstrative purposes.

If you've been in or around enough fights. You are familiar with the person that got hit or beat up but they weren't knocked down or if they they did get knocked down they weren't knocked out then as soon as the other person leaves or turns their back, they're talking again.
